Revolution and TFC Sleepwalk to Scoreless Stalemate; Under Cashes Easy

MLS

Well, that was exactly as advertised—and somehow even less entertaining. Toronto FC and New England Revolution ground out a lifeless 0-0 draw at Gillette Stadium, validating every pessimistic word in our under 2.5 preview. This one had all the attacking flair of a mid-February practice session.

New England's fortress-at-home reputation held firm, suffocating a Toronto side that couldn't generate danger if you spotted them a penalty. Missing Matheus Pereira, TFC's attack was predictably toothless on the road, extending their winless streak and confirming they have no business threatening quality defenses away from home. The Revs, meanwhile, continued their regression to the mean after overperforming their xG all season—turns out you can't sustain that finishing variance forever, and tonight they looked utterly bereft of ideas in the final third.

Both backlines dominated, both attacks flailed, and the under 2.5 cruised home without breaking a sweat. We called New England's defensive metrics elite and Toronto's road offense anemic—nothing that happened over 90 minutes suggested otherwise. Sometimes the tape doesn't lie, and sometimes MLS serves up exactly the drab, low-event slog you expect. Tonight was both. Our pick hit, the scoreboard stayed blank, and nobody left Foxborough talking about this one over breakfast.
