Royals Edge Twins 2-1 as DarkHorse Ride Cashes on Pitching Edge

MLB

The Royals squeaked past the Twins 2-1 at Kauffman Stadium, and DarkHorse's -119 ticket clears the window in about as tight a fashion as you'll see. We hammered the pitching mismatch all week—Dean Kremer's bloated 6.50 ERA against Noah Cameron's more respectable 4.59—and Kansas City's arms delivered exactly what the spreadsheet promised. This was a classic grind-it-out affair, the kind of game where one mistake decides everything and the Twins, predictably, made it.

Minnesota managed just a single run against Cameron and the Royals' bullpen, continuing their road woes at 3-7 after getting boat-raced 8-2 the night before. Kremer didn't implode but gave up enough to lose, which is basically his season in a nutshell. The Royals' offense—never pretty at .246 team average—scraped together two runs and made them stand up, leaning on home cooking and superior pitching depth.

Was it pretty? No. Did it need to be? Absolutely not. We called the ERA gap, we called the venue advantage, and we cashed a winner while the Twins limp back to the airport wondering how they let another winnable series slip away. That's three straight losses for Minnesota, and the Royals just keep finding ways to win the games that matter.
