Seahawks Backup QB Torches Cardinals in Stunning 31-7 Rout
Well, this is awkward. DarkHorse nailed the under 41.0 — the 38 combined points sailed comfortably beneath the number — but for completely the wrong reasons. Seattle's backup quarterback didn't just survive Sam Darnold's glute injury absence; he thrived, shredding Arizona for 31 points in a performance that made the Cardinals look like they'd never seen a football before.
The Seahawks scored more without Darnold than they managed WITH him in Week 1, turning our entire handicapping premise on its head. Seattle's defense, which we correctly identified as stout, did their part by suffocating Arizona's offense to just seven points — a far cry from their 26-point Week 1 average. The Cardinals looked utterly lost at home, mustering almost nothing against a Seattle squad playing with house money.
The under cashed because Arizona completely cratered, not because Seattle limped through a backup-quarterback slog. Sometimes you win the bet for the wrong reasons, and sometimes the football gods just enjoy reminding us that divisional chaos trumps all logic. Seattle's backup looked like the starter, Arizona's starters looked like backups, and DarkHorse walks away with a W despite getting the narrative completely backwards. We'll take it, but let's not pretend we saw THIS coming.
