Game Recap
Seahawks Send DarkHorse Pick Down in Flames with 53-Point Shootout
Well, that defensive slugfest we projected turned into a backyard barbecue, and DarkHorse got cooked. The Seahawks took down the Chargers 30-23 in a game that sailed over our under 42.5 call by a cool 10.5 points. Ouch.
Seattle's defense, which we loved at 16.67 points allowed per game, suddenly forgot how to tackle. The Chargers' supposedly anemic offense that was averaging under 15 points per game? They dropped 23 on the board, well above their season average. Justin Herbert apparently found his rhythm at the worst possible time for our ticket, and those missing weapons didn't matter nearly as much as we thought they would.
The Seahawks held serve at home with 30 points, which alone would've pushed this total close to the number. Combined with LA's unexpected offensive output, we never had a chance after the second quarter.
Credit where it's due: Seattle's offense showed up when it mattered, and the Chargers proved they're not quite the offensive disaster we pegged them as. Sometimes the sharp money gets it wrong, and this was one of those nights. The home team got the win, but our under pick got buried in the process. On to the next one.
