Game Recap
Spurs Torch Kings 130-103, Blow Past Under 230.5 in Blowout Fashion
Well, that escalated quickly. The Spurs absolutely demolished Sacramento 130-103, turning what looked like a defensive grind on paper into a one-sided beatdown that sailed over the 230.5 total by more than two points. So much for slow pace and poor shooting.
San Antonio torched the nets for 130 points despite entering the night shooting just 44.1% from the field and 31.9% from deep. Turns out when you're playing a Kings squad on short rest and missing Keegan Murray, you can find rhythm in a hurry. Sacramento's defense looked gassed from the opening tip, and the Spurs took full advantage, pushing tempo and finding easy looks all night.
The under 230.5 never stood a chance. The game hit 233 total points, and frankly it felt like more given how lopsided the second half became. Yes, both teams came in playing slow and shooting poorly, but this was a perfect storm of Sacramento's fatigue meeting San Antonio's suddenly hot shooting. Victor Wembanyama's defensive length didn't suppress anything when his teammates were raining buckets on the other end.
Sometimes the numbers lie. The Kings looked every bit the tired road team we expected, but the Spurs decided to have their best offensive night in weeks. Tough miss for the under backers.
