Tigers Pitching Dominance Delivers as DarkHorse Cashes Tigers ML

MLB

The Tigers rolled into Oracle Park and did exactly what DarkHorse's model projected: rode superior pitching and offense to a 3-1 victory that made our Tigers ML pick (-114) look easy. Troy Melton justified every bit of that 1.58 ERA coming in, stifling a Giants lineup that couldn't solve him all night. Meanwhile, Logan Webb's 3.74 ERA proved generous—he got tagged early and never recovered.

Detroit's offensive firepower, led by the red-hot trio of Max Clark (.970 OPS), Riley Greene (.820 OPS), and Dillon Dingler (.870 OPS), manufactured just enough run support against Webb's pedestrian stuff. The Giants' anemic lineup (.640-.780 OPS range across the board) looked exactly as overmatched as the numbers suggested, managing a single consolation run that never threatened the outcome.

This was textbook edge exploitation. When you've got a 2.16 ERA advantage on the mound and legitimate bats facing a mediocre starter, road underdog or not, you hammer that number. The market gave us -114 on a team with clear pitching and hitting superiority—that's the definition of value, and it cashed comfortably. Sometimes the handicap writes itself, and tonight the Tigers proved why you trust the numbers over narratives. DarkHorse stays hot.
