Tigers Squeeze Past Snell, DarkHorse Eats Humble Pie in 2-1 Defeat

MLB

Well, that's baseball. The Dodgers brought their shiny new toy Blake Snell back from the IL, and he did exactly what we expected—pitched like an ace, kept Detroit's anemic offense mostly silent. But here's the thing about elite pitching: it doesn't mean squat if your lineup forgets how to hit. Los Angeles managed exactly one run against Keider Montero and the Tigers bullpen, and that was enough to send DarkHorse's Dodgers ML pick straight to the glue factory.

Detroit entered this game 2-8 in their last ten, averaging barely three runs per contest, yet somehow scratched across two runs—just enough. The Dodgers offense, supposedly clicking at 4.27 runs per game over their last fifteen, looked utterly lifeless when it mattered. Freeman and Muncy, those .800+ OPS bats we leaned on? Might as well have been swinging pool noodles.

Credit where it's due: Montero matched Snell pitch-for-pitch, and the Tigers defense didn't gift the Dodgers anything. But make no mistake, this was less about Detroit winning and more about Los Angeles forgetting how to manufacture runs. Sometimes the math checks out, the logic is sound, and the baseball gods still laugh in your face. Dodgers fall 2-1, and we take the L.
