Twins Steal One in Detroit, Tigers Can't Cash Anderson's Gem

Drew Anderson showed up exactly as advertised, holding Minnesota's anemic road offense in check and giving the Tigers every chance to cash. But baseball's a cruel mistress—you can't win if you don't score, and Detroit's lineup managed just two runs against Dean Kremer and company. The Twins, who've been absolutely putrid away from Target Field this season at 2-7, found just enough offense when it mattered. The pitching matchup played out almost exactly as projected. Anderson delivered his end of the bargain, Kremer was hittable but survived, and Minnesota's bullpen slammed the door.
