Twins Take Down A's 9-6, DarkHorse Cashes the Road Fade

MLB

The Twins delivered exactly what we projected, dismantling the Athletics 9-6 in Oakland to cash our -145 ticket and improve to 3-1 in the season series. Zebby Matthews wasn't dominant—he never is with that 5.12 ERA—but he did enough to exploit the pitching gap we hammered all week. Jeffrey Springs, fresh off the IL with that dicey hip, couldn't locate and got torched early, validating every concern about his readiness. The Twins jumped ahead and never trailed, turning this into a comfortable winner despite the A's scratching across six runs in garbage time.

Minnesota's bats woke up after that miserable 1-5 road stretch, stacking nine runs against a patchwork Oakland staff that had no answers. The Athletics tried to make it interesting late, but this game was decided by the fifth inning. Our handicap nailed it: the 0.90 ERA gap between starters mattered, Springs' rust showed immediately, and the Twins' season dominance over Oakland continued. That 54% home baseline for the A's? Irrelevant when your rotation is held together with duct tape and hope.

Clean winner. Sometimes the obvious play is obvious for a reason. Twins move on, we move the bankroll forward.
