UFC Sacramento: Hernandez vs. Rodrigues Brings Heavyweight Chaos and Middleweight Heat

UFC

Sacramento's Golden 1 Center hosts a sprawling 14-fight card Saturday night, headlined by a middleweight scrap between Anthony Hernandez (15-3) and Gregory Rodrigues (19-6) that promises violence but lacks the divisional stakes to truly pop. The real intrigue lies in the heavyweight shuffle and a stacked lightweight slate that could mint new contenders.

Three heavyweight tilts anchor this card, starting with the oddity of Terrance Chatman making his professional debut against 7-0 Anthony Wint. That's either a baptism by fire or a showcase gone wrong—either way, someone's zero has got to go. More compelling is Serghei Spivac (18-6) welcoming the surging Vitor Petrino (14-2) to the big-boy ranks, a genuine test of whether Petrino's hype survives heavyweight reality. Kennedy Nzechukwu (14-6-1) versus Shamil Gaziev (14-3) rounds out the big-man action, a coin-flip affair between veterans hunting relevance.

The lightweight division gets four showcases, and this is where bettors should focus. Gauge Young (11-3) appears twice on the card—likely a data error, but if accurate, someone's having a very long night. His listed opponent Stan Dorsainvil (5-0) brings an undefeated record but minimal sample size. More established is the Chris Padilla (17-6-1) versus Nasrat Haqparast (18-6) pairing, two grizzled 155-pounders who've seen every trick. MarQuel Mederos (11-1-1) against Mason Jones (18-2) screams sleeper banger—combined 29-3-1 with both men hunting top-15 oxygen.

Reinier de Ridder (21-4) drops to light heavyweight to face Roman Dolidze (15-5), a fascinating style clash that could define de Ridder's UFC trajectory. At featherweight, Marcio Barbosa (18-2) should steamroll Ryan Kuse (1-1) in what looks like a stay-busy fight for the Brazilian, while Jamall Emmers (22-8) and Lerryan Douglas (14-5) bring veteran savvy.

Women's strawweight offers Carli Judice (6-2) testing undefeated Jeisla Chaves (8-0), and Shanelle Dyer (7-1) squaring off with Elise Reed (8-5). Chaves' zero makes her the betting favorite, but Judice has faced stiffer competition.

Sacramento gets quantity over marquee names, but the heavyweight chaos and lightweight depth make this a card for the degenerate grinders. Circle Spivac-Petrino and Mederos-Jones if you're hunting value in the violence.
