Warriors Survive Skeleton-Crew Effort, Edge Suns 116-113 Despite Curry/Green Absence
So much for the "depleted Warriors can't hang" narrative. Golden State gutted out a 116-113 home win over Phoenix on Tuesday, spoiling our Suns ML +123 pick and proving that sometimes the hungrier dogs bite harder.
The Warriors had no business winning this one on paper—playing their fourth game in seven nights without Curry or Draymond—but someone forgot to tell the supporting cast. Golden State's role players stepped up when it mattered, holding serve down the stretch while the Suns couldn't capitalize on their rest advantage or that 131-122 beatdown they delivered eight days ago. Phoenix got solid production from Devin Booker and company, but 113 points against a supposedly gassed, short-handed squad isn't going to cut it.
The three-point margin tells you everything: this was a grind-it-out affair where Golden State's depth and home-court energy trumped Phoenix's superior roster health. Credit where it's due—the Warriors found a way without their stars. Our handicap leaned hard on fatigue and absences, and Golden State simply refused to fold. Tough miss, but that's why they play the games. The Suns had every edge except the one that counts: the scoreboard.
