Week 33 Power Rankings: The Great Equalizer Has Spoken

NFL

Welcome to the most honest power rankings you'll read all season, folks. When every team sits at 0-0 and the slate is wiped clean, there's no spin to peddle, no narratives to massage, no three-game winning streaks to prop up pretenders. Just thirty-two franchises staring at identical .000 records like it's the first day of school and nobody's failed a test yet.

So here's the truth bomb: we've got nothing. The 49ers top our alphabetical standings with the same zero wins as the Vikings at the bottom. Kansas City's dynasty dreams? Same record as Carolina's rebuild. Buffalo's Super Bowl window? Looks identical to the Giants' dumpster fire on paper. It's beautiful chaos, really—the ultimate market inefficiency before Week 1 kickoff.

Smart money knows this is fool's gold territory. Those preseason win totals the books are peddling? They're built on last year's corpse and training camp mythology. Nobody's proven a damn thing yet in 2026. The defending champs haven't defended anything. The worst team from last season hasn't lost a game this year.

If you're looking for me to crown someone based on vibes and August performances, you've come to the wrong desk. The Paddock Report deals in results, and right now the only result is a perfect tie across the league. Every team has exactly the same claim to relevance: none.

Check back when we've got actual game data—touchdowns scored, turnovers forced, fourth-quarter collapses, garbage-time stat-padding, all the beautiful mess that separates contenders from pretenders. Until then, anyone telling you they know who's good is selling you swampland. The season starts when someone actually wins a game.

Place your bets accordingly. Or better yet, don't.
