Week 37 Power Rankings: The Great Reset — Everyone's 0-0 and We're Flying Blind

NFL

Welcome to the most useless power rankings column I've ever written. Every single team sits at 0-0, which means we're staring at a perfectly flat landscape with zero data to separate the contenders from the pretenders. No net ratings. No offensive firepower metrics. No defensive efficiency numbers. Just thirty-two teams tied in a beautiful, meaningless knot.

So what do we actually know? Absolutely nothing the standings can tell us. The 49ers sit atop the alphabetical order like it means something. The Vikings bring up the rear because the alphabet gods are cruel. Somewhere in the middle, the Chiefs and Lions and Eagles exist in the same statistical purgatory as the Panthers and Patriots.

This is either Week 1 of a fresh season or we're dealing with some catastrophic data wipeout that erased every shred of performance evidence. Either way, trying to rank these teams based on identical .000 records is like trying to pick a winner in a coin-flip tournament before anyone's flipped a coin.

For the sharps in The Stable looking for actionable intel: there isn't any. You want to know who's overperforming their metrics? Can't tell you—there are no metrics. You want to fade public darlings riding unsustainable turnover luck? Everyone's luck is exactly the same: nonexistent.

The only honest power ranking right now is chaos. Flip a dart at the board. Trust your preseason priors. Bet your gut. Because until someone actually plays a game and posts a number that isn't a goose egg, we're all just guessing in the dark.

Check back next week when hopefully someone's actually won or lost something. Until then, the 49ers are your alphabetical champions and the Vikings can cry about it. That's all I've got.
