White Sox Fold in Minnesota as Twins Coast to 5-1 Victory

MLB

The White Sox limped into Target Field and did exactly what we've come to expect from them this season—rolled over and played dead. The Twins cruised to a 5-1 win that was never really in doubt, putting Chicago's pitching staff through the meat grinder while their own bats sputtered like a lawnmower in November.

Minnesota did the damage early and often, building a cushion that let them coast through the late innings without breaking a sweat. The White Sox managed a single run—one measly tally—while their pitchers served up five runs like they were running a charity buffet. Chicago's offense looked lost at the plate, stranding runners and making weak contact when they bothered to reach base at all.

This wasn't a game; it was a formality. The Twins controlled tempo from first pitch to last out, and the White Sox never mounted anything resembling a threat. When you score one run on the road, you're not winning many ballgames, and Chicago's season-long struggles were on full display in the Twin Cities.

DarkHorse stayed off this one—smart money sitting out a mismatch that played out exactly as lopsided as the final score suggests. Sometimes the best bet is no bet at all.
