Yankees' Ace Schlittler Gets Shelled as Toronto Buries the Bronx Bombers

MLB

Well, that ERA advantage sure looked pretty on paper. The Yankees limped out of Toronto with a 4-1 loss, and DarkHorse's -172 pick on the Bronx Bombers just got tossed in the recycling bin where it belongs.

Cam Schlittler, the supposed ace with his shiny 2.21 ERA and elite peripherals, got absolutely worked by a Blue Jays lineup that clearly didn't read the scouting report. Toronto jumped on him early and often, turning that "massive starting pitching advantage" into a punchline. Meanwhile, Braydon Fisher — you know, the guy we were supposed to fade with his pedestrian 3.54 ERA — pitched like he had something to prove, keeping New York's bats silent all night.

The Yankees managed just one measly run while Toronto's offense put up four, continuing their dominant home form that apparently nobody in the Bronx took seriously. That 6-2 home record and 3.12 runs allowed we mentioned? Yeah, turns out that wasn't just noise — it was a warning sign.

Sometimes the numbers lie, and sometimes a team just wants it more. Tuesday night in Toronto, the Blue Jays were the better squad, period. The Yankees got humbled, our pick got torched, and we're left wondering if Schlittler's "elite peripherals" are worth the paper they're printed on.
