Yankees Cruise Past Lifeless Red Sox Offense, DarkHorse Cashes Easy
The Yankees dismantled the Red Sox 9-2 at home, and frankly, it wasn't even that close. DarkHorse's Yankees ML at -135 cashed without breaking a sweat, and the reasoning was spot-on: Boston's offense is completely cooked right now, and Max Fried carved them up exactly as advertised.
Fried's sub-1.00 WHIP against a lineup that couldn't score in a pinball arcade? Chef's kiss. The Red Sox managed just two runs against a Yankees staff that's been vulnerable lately, which tells you everything about where Boston's bats are. When you're trotting out Jahmai Jones, Jarren Duran, and Isiah Kiner-Falefa in the heart of your order, you're not exactly striking fear into anyone. The Yankees, meanwhile, piled on nine runs and made this one a laugher by the middle innings.
The only wrinkle in DarkHorse's analysis was Aaron Judge being out, which kept the line reasonable, but it didn't matter. Ben Rice and Cody Bellinger did enough damage, and when you're facing a team averaging under two runs per game on the road, you don't need your MVP. This was textbook: fade the frozen bats, trust the pitching edge, collect your money. Boston's freefall continues, and the Bronx faithful went home happy. Easy night at the office.
