Yankees Obliterate Red Sox 16-1, DarkHorse Pick Gets Steamrolled

MLB

Well, that was ugly. The Yankees absolutely demolished the Red Sox 16-1 at the Stadium, turning DarkHorse's -120 Red Sox pick into confetti. So much for that "meaningful 1.04 ERA advantage" and "6-0 shutout momentum" – none of it mattered when New York's bats woke up like they'd been hibernating all week.

The final score tells you everything: sixteen runs. The Yankees didn't just win, they made a statement, piling on early and never letting up. Whatever lineup holes existed without their stars became irrelevant when the whole damn roster decided to channel their inner Murderers' Row. Meanwhile, Boston's supposedly superior offense managed one measly run, making that .91 OPS and "multiple .70+ OPS bats" look like beer league numbers.

The reasoning wasn't crazy – starter edges and recent form matter – but baseball has a cruel way of reminding you that yesterday means nothing today. The Red Sox got boat-raced, plain and simple. When you lose by fifteen runs, there's no silver lining to spin. DarkHorse took the L here, and frankly, so did anyone who watched this massacre hoping for competitive baseball. Sometimes the math checks out and the baseball gods laugh anyway. Tonight, they cackled.
